A direct‑push and well injection remediation project was recently completed at a shopping center in Sacramento County. The selected groundwater remedy included EDS‑ER and EDS‑QR Electron Donors provided by Tersus, along with KB‑1 and KB‑1 Primer supplied by SiREM.

Injection tooling was advanced using a Geoprobe 6011DT and a top‑down injection approach, targeting discrete 5‑foot treatment intervals between 45 and 55 feet below ground surface.

One of our self‑contained injection trailers, fitted with a 10‑point injection manifold, was used to inject remedy into up to four points simultaneously. Injection pressures were monitored and recorded throughout the event, along with flow rate and total volume data collected using ultrasonic flow meters.

The reagents were delivered to our Benicia, CA office and then transported and stored in our support truck for security.

Anaerobic mix water was prepared in two totes, with KB‑1 Primer added to optimize geochemical conditions and support the subsequent KB‑1 bioaugmentation.

The KB‑1 microbial culture was injected in‑line through the 10‑point injection manifold, allowing for controlled and efficient distribution across the targeted treatment intervals.

Overall, the project was executed safely and efficiently, meeting design objectives while maintaining strong quality control and data collection practices. This effort highlights the NorCal Legacy field team’s commitment to high‑quality biological amendment delivery.
