The Legacy NorCal Team recently completed a Sonic Direct Injection project in Fresno County, California, targeting a treatment interval of 70–90 feet below ground surface (bgs). This project utilized a combined remedial approach with Evonik’s ELS® Concentrate, GeoForm® Soluble Mix, Zero Valent Iron (ZVI) and along with bioaugmentation using SDC®-9 microbial culture to address subsurface groundwater contamination.

Due to the project’s location within the right-of-way, we mobilized one of our smaller injection trailers, enabling efficient daily setup and breakdown.

Sonic drilling services were performed in partnership with our friends at Geocentric Drilling, whose expertise was key to achieving effective amendment placement at depth.

By integrating carbon-based substrates with abiotic treatment media, the design supports long-term contaminant degradation through multiple pathways. Great teamwork all around to deliver a smooth and successful execution in a constrained environment.
Considering the extensive pre-planning and logistical coordination required for working within the right-of-way at this Central Valley project, it was executed seamlessly from start to finish. The team’s experience, combined with careful preparation, the use of appropriate equipment, and strong collaboration among all partners, enabled the work to be completed safely, efficiently, and without disruption.
