Here are some project images of a recently completed project completed in the San Bernardino county high desert area. The project site was a former dry cleaner, located adjacent to a school.

Working under the direction of a regional environmental consultant, the Legacy Team supported the In Situ Chemical Oxidation (ISCO) groundwater treatment approach, using Potassium Permanganate.

ree

Potassium Permanganate is delivered as a solid oxidizer, the proper amount is weighed to support the batch mixing.

ree

The Potassium Permanganate was mixed and injected at a 2% concentration.

ree

The Permanganate mixture was delivered through both Injection 2-inch Injection Wells and Direct Push Injection Points.

ree

The Direct Push Injection points were advanced using a Geoprobe 7822DT, targeting the 30-40 foot deep treatment interval, using a 5-foot long top-down injection tool.

ree

Mix water was pulled from a nearby fire hydrant. The Legacy team coordinated with the local water utility to install a construction meter.

ree

We were injecting into 7 simultaneous points/wells through our 10-point manifold.

ree

We do not make a habit of using crossover ramps to traverse active roadways, however since it was a rarely traveled road, and with the use of traffic rated hose ramps and control traffic signs, we were able to safely and easily access the downgradient plume.

ree

The Geoprobe was used to advance all the downgradient off-site injection points.
