We’re proud to share one of our recent remediation project successes at a Los Angeles county site. Farallon Consulting, the engineering firm leading the effort, contracted Legacy Remediation to support the City of Whittier’s Environmental Cleanup Project under the DTSC’s Equitable Community Revitalization Grant Program.

For decades, the nearly one-acre site on Whittier Boulevard carried the legacy of its industrial past. Formerly used for petroleum distribution and related operations, contamination in soil, soil vapor, and groundwater created a persistent barrier to redevelopment.

As part of this project, our team successfully completed injections across 32 Injection Wells, applying a mixture of 3DME, S‑MicroZVI, and bioaugmentation with BDI Plus, all provided by REGENESIS.

Injection volumes varied by well, with each receiving up to 1,759 gallons of the amendment mixture, based on the site‑specific treatment design.

Each injection well was also bioaugmented with BDI Plus. It was applied using anoxic water introduced both prior to and following the DHC injection.

Due to the lack of available onsite storage, all reagents were delivered daily by Legacy as needed.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with such a strong project team and contribute to meaningful environmental restoration in the community.
