Contra Costa County PlumeStop, AquaFix, and S-MicroZVI DPT Injection

he Legacy NorCal team recently completed a direct push injection project at a former dry cleaner site in Contra Costa County, California. Working across 59 injection points, the team targeted groundwater impacts within a 12- to 22-foot treatment interval using a combination of REGENESIS® remediation products, including PlumeStop®, AquaFix®, S-MicroZVI®, and BDI Plus®. The treatment approach was designed to support both immediate contaminant reduction and long-term groundwater remediation through a combination of sequestration, abiotic degradation, and enhanced biological processes.

All mixing equipment and the reagent delivery truck were positioned within secondary containment spill berms throughout the project.

Due to limited secure storage space onsite, all reagents were delivered to our local office in Benicia, California. The Legacy team managed the inventory and coordinated daily reagent deliveries to the project site as needed, ensuring efficient operations and maintaining adequate supplies throughout the injection project.

All reagents were mixed and injected from one of Legacy's custom self-contained injection trailers, providing an efficient and organized platform for reagent handling, mixing, and delivery throughout the project.

Direct push tooling was advanced using a Geoprobe® 6011DT. Several injection locations were situated within the public right-of-way and required traffic control measures, which were implemented to ensure safe and efficient project execution while minimizing disruptions to local traffic.
Great work by the field crew for keeping the site safe, clean, and organized while delivering another successful in-situ remediation project.
